Cybersecurity Awareness Month
October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month. The aim is to raise awareness about online threats faced by organisations and individuals.
During 2020 the largest global trend was malicious attackers exploiting the chaos caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Most commonly, attackers used phishing attacks to target unsuspecting users.
In South Africa a big issue was the POPI Act (POPIA) that was signed into law. During October, LAWtrust will promote awareness of the POPI Act. Each week we will look at two principles of the Act, providing facts, dispelling myths and giving compliancy tips.
At the end of each week there will be a quiz to test your knowledge. Participate in all four quizzes and you can stand a chance to win some nice prizes.
So follow LAWtrust on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn to learn more about this important moment in South African legal history and a chance to win!
